WE ARE PROUD TO HONOR OUR

H2L HEROES

Since Hand Camp’s inception in 2001, we have had the privilege of meeting hundreds of amazing campers. While each and every one of you holds a special place in our hearts, there are those who have stood out as the HEROES of Hand Camp. Our HEROES have been identified and nominated by their fellow campers, or other members of the Hands to Love community for the work they are doing to further the mission and vision of the organization.

Hand Camp HEROES all have certain characteristics in common: Heart, Empower, Resilient, Optimistic, Embrace, and Selfless. If you know a camper who embodies these traits, we invite you to nominate them! Our HEROES review committee reviews each submission to ensure the nominee meets the criteria. Once a month, we will feature a Hand Camp HERO on this page, as well as on our social media and in our newsletter. We are so excited to share the stories of all our HEROES!

WHAT ARE THE QUALITIES OF OUR

H.E.R.O.E.S.?

Heart

Our Hand Camp Heroes are full of heart. They show passion and enthusiasm, and are compassionate and kind to others.

Empower

Themselves or others. Heroes are always looking for ways to make themselves or others stronger and more confident.

Resilient

They know how to get back up, time after time. Camp heroes don’t let tough situations keep them down, they look at challenges as a chance to grow.

Optimistic

They always see the silver lining. Our heroes are full of hope, and they always think of the best possible outcome for any situation.

Embrace

Everyone and any situation, no matter how challenging. Heroes are accepting and supportive of new people or situations, no matter how “different” they may seem!

Selfless

Always looking for ways to put others first. Camp heroes are generous and kind, seeking out ways to share their gifts and talents with others.
